The Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al Sharjabi, discussed today, in a virtual meeting, with the Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services, Dr. Khaldoun Saleh, the final arrangements for a list of planned projects in a number of governorates in the field of water and sanitation projects.
The two officials discussed the institutional building of the local water and sanitation institutions and service providers in a number of secondary cities, including interventions aimed at reducing waste, improving water productivity, expanding services, restructuring tariffs, improving collection efficiency, training and rehabilitation.
The meeting touched on the importance of supporting the government's efforts in transition from emergency projects to projects of rehabilitation, improving and developing of public services.
