The Government of Yemen represented by Minister of Electricity and Energy Anwar Kalshat and Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen represented by the General Sponsor of the program Mohammad Al Jaber signed Tuesday a treaty for importing 1.2 million ton of oil derivatives for operating power stations.
The treaty worth USD 422 million and comes in response to the government's demand for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people and supporting national economy.
Minister Kalshat praised Saudi continuous support to Yemen, describing support of energy sector as vital support for operating power station and helping economic recovery.
For his part, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Al Jaber, who is the sponsor of the program, made it clear that the donation aims at operating electric stations, improving infrastructure and helping improve services, confirming that the donation will help recovery of economic situation in Yemen.
