RIYADH - SABA
Yemen’s Information Minister said on Wednesday that within hours from the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths’ call for ceasefire in Yemen, the Houthi militia killed 11 civilians mostly women and children by a ballistic missile attack on a market in Marib.
Muammar al-Eryani said in a statement to Saba, that within this short while after Griffiths’ ceasefire call, the militia also killed six other civilians in Hays district of Hodeidah in the country’s west and killed three other civilians by shelling on villages in Taiz in the southwest.
Al-Eryani has called on the international community and the UN Special Envoy to condemn these non-stopping daily crimes which focus on women and children as the preferred targets, and to categorize them as war crimes.
He called for the prosecution of the Houthi militia’s leaders as war criminals in international courts.
