Governor of Aden Hamed Lamlas discussed Monday with the Regional Director of World Food Program Loran Bokira the program's interventions in 2021.
The meeting touched upon distribution of cash assistances and paying them through mail offices as they are more capable to distribute these assistances to the beneficiaries. The meeting also discussed the program's support to charitable bakeries with flour.
Lamlas pointed out to coordination between the local authority and international organizations, noting to significance of strengthening control on quality of food materials distributed to citizens.
For his part, Bokira expressed regret over mistakes regarding the quality of food materials distributed recently, pointing out they are investigating the incident.
He added that the program has other projects and interventions to be distributed as long as good relations between the local authority and the program are continuing.
