His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

President Hadi praises the GCC's supportive stances in support of Yemen

President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi highly praised the supportive positions of the GCC's member states in support of Yemen, its security, stability and unity, deeply appreciating the Saudi-led Arab Coalition significant support for the Yemeni people against the Iran-backed Houthi militia's coup and the Iranian expansion policy in Yemen and the region.

Hadi's statement came as he received on Tuesday a high-ranking delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) headed by the Secretary General of the Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf.

President Hadi detailed the GCC's delegation on the latest developments in the Yemeni national scene in view of the formation of the government and its return to the temporary capital Aden to exercises its mandates and do its duties.

He expressed thanks and gratitude to the GCC for its great efforts it has been making to support Yemen's security, stability, unity and the peace process to establish peace that is based on the three terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, outcomes of National Dialogue and the UNSCRs in relevance, namely 2216.

The President of the Republic reinstated that he has always been very keen on establishing peace and putting an end of the Yemeni peoples' suffering caused by Iran-backed Houthi militia's absurd war.

The GCC's Secretary General confirmed the GCC member states' keenness to maintain Yemen's unity, security, stability; affirming their support for the Yemeni legitimate leadership headed by President Hadi.

Al-Hajraf stated the GCC's member states are willing to organize donors conference for Yemen to mobilize the needed resources to support Yemen's economy and development drive in the country.
