Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, discussed with the British Ambassador to Yemen Michael Aaron via video conference the latest developments in Yemen and the strengthening of the bilateral Yemeni-British relationship.
Al-Eryani stressed the importance of the British role in supporting the Yemeni government in ending the coup of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and establishing permanent peace.
He pointed out to the government's efforts, upon the directives of President Hadi, to work on alleviating suffering of the Yemeni people while seeking to fulfill their aspirations for a state of law and order where all the Yemeni citizens are equal.
Al-Eryani said the international community is a key partner in supporting the peace process in Yemen including the Riyadh Agreement, which is considered a gateway to achieving a comprehensive peace.
He praised the sincere role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which sponsored the Riyadh Agreement and worked to heal the rift and unify the national ranks under the umbrella of constitutional legitimacy.
Al-Eryani said that that the National Army in Marib is in an advanced positions on the Marib front, and that the province is protected by with the armed forces and popular supporters as well as the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He said that Marib today is defending the republic and the national army there is the guarantor for liberating Sanaa and ending the coup.
He noted that the Houthi constant mobilization of militants and attacks on Marib and Al-Jawf highlights the radical militia's defiance to the international efforts to bring about peace in Yemen.
