GCC welcomes the formation of the new Yemeni Cabinet

RIYADH -SABA
The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf has welcomed the formation of the new Yemeni Cabinet from various political parties, in implementation of the Riyadh Agreement signed between the government and the Southern Transitional Council.

He expressed his appreciation for the efforts aimed at giving priority to the interests of the people and creating an atmosphere for the government to carry out its work from the temporary capital Aden and restart the development process in the liberated areas.

He praised the efforts of the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia in accelerating the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, which have culminated in the declaration of the Cabinet yesterday.

Al-Hajraf affirmed the GCC states ’keenness to restore security and stability in Yemen, and the GCC’s support for the efforts of the United Nations aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue and the Security Council Resolution no. 2216.
