The Commission for Development and Rights, a local NGO, held on Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, a symposium on the legal protection of women, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Aden Women Forum and the Hope Development Foundation for Outstanding Students.
In the symposium, Deputy Information Minister Hussain Basleem referred to the importance of shedding light through the media and influential platforms on all issues of violence against women, and focusing on the importance of limiting the continuation of these negative practices that affect society in general.
He stressed the importance of the existence of strict laws that restrict the use of all kinds of violence against women, and the importance of joint cooperation with all local and international human rights bodies in confronting this phenomenon.
