The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Yemen’s Health Minister Naser Baoom has held the Houthi armed militia responsible for the resurgence of infant polio which Yemen had been declared free from in 2006.
In a video call with the WHO and UNICEF offices in Yemen and the office of the regional representative of the WHO in Cairo, Baoom said today the spotted return of infant polio is “inevitably the result of those irresponsible Houthi rumors against vaccinations.”

Baoom said the Houthi “smear campaign is based on extremist religious edifications that do not take account of the disastrous effects of preaching.”
