As he presided over the first session of the first round of the parliament's third legislative term on Thursday Al-Assomi highlighted the urgency of the continuation of the Yemeni consultations to reach a comprehensive political solution based on the three terms of reference agreed to.

In a statement issued by the end of the first session of the first round of the parliament's third legislative period the Arab Parliament expressed concerns over the deteriorated humanitarian situations in Yemen and the consequent impacts upon the Yemeni people amid Houthi militia's violations and atrocities against the Yemeni people and due to the militia's blatantly violation of the constitution and all international conventions of social equity and justice among the Yemeni community constituencies.

The Arab Parliament's statement pointed out to the dangerous state of Safer Oil Tanker off Ras Issa harbor in the city of Hodeidah on the Red Sea. The tanker is risking spill over one million and one hundred barrels of crude oil as the tanker has not been subjected to maintenance for five years.
