[27/10/2020 01:36]
RIYADH-SABA
Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami held virtual discussions Tuesday with the Head of International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Yemen Christina Rottensteiner

The conversations focused on the IOM's actions in Yemen, namely the role of the IOM in assisting the government's plans to manage the problem of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and illegal migration from the African Horn to Yemen.

Al-Hadrami pointed out to the heavy burdens Marib governorate has been facing as a result of the massively influx of the IDPs who fled their own regions due to Houthi militia's crimes and atrocities.

He underscored the need for establishing an independent humanitarian relief center in Marib and greater interventions by international organizations to help the local authority managing the increasingly growing needs of the large number of IDPs.

The IOM official cited the organization's programs in Yemen this year, singling out the finance shortages as an obstacle impedes the IOM's support programs for the hosting communities.
