The Chinese Ambassador to Yemen Kang Yong said his country will continue its efforts to “enhance friendship” with Yemen and is looking forward to resumed normal economic and trade exchanges and halting the conflict."
In a press statement, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of founding of the People's Republic of China, the ambassador said the Chinese and Yemeni people have been partners for decades, but the war prevented Yemen's participation with China in the Belt and Road Initiative. He said his country hopes to achieve peace in Yemen so that economic development can resume.
He noted that his country provided Yemen with urgent humanitarian aid, and stood by the Yemeni people to combat coronavirus, and took the initiative to provide medical assistance, transfer experiences to combat the epidemic and put forward proposals for a plan to diagnose and treat the Covid-19 virus epidemic.
