RIYADH - SABA
Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Ahmed al-Sobah discussed bilateral ties between the two countries through a phone conversation on Monday.
They also conferred over the latest developments about the UN-led peace efforts and the developments in the Yemeni scene including Houthi militia's escalations on Marib and Safer oil tanker.
Al-Hadrami voiced deep appreciation for brothers in the state of Kuwait for their constant support for assigning $20 million in aid for the Yemeni people.
The Foreign Minister briefed his Kuwaiti counterpart on the ongoing military escalation by the theocratic Houthi militia on the governorate of Marib.
He also touched upon the problem of Safer oil tanker due to Houthi militia's intransigence.
" In spite of the government's calls, the International Security Council's and international community to get Safer oil tanker resolved, Houthi militiamen continued to refuse to allow the UN's team access the tanker and do their job to prevent a looming environmental disaster in the Red Sea and the entire region", said Al-Hadrami.
Al-Hadrami stated that the government is very keen to implement Riyadh Agreement and fulfilled its obligation including nominating Prime Minister, appointing governor and Chief Security for the temporary capital Aden.
For his part, the Kuwait Foreign Minister reiterated Kuwait's support for Yemen's security, stability, unity, as well as for the legitimate government and sustainable peace in Yemen based on the three terms of reference agreed to.
