The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Deputy PM inspects activities of Arab Sea Corporation's activities

Deputy Prime Minister, the Acting Minister of Transport, Salim al-Khanbashi inspected Monday activities of the Corporation of Arab Sea's Ports at Mukalla Port, Hadhramout Province.
Al-Khanbashi was briefed by Acting Chief of the Board of the Corporation Salim Basamir on the corporation's past accomplishments, pointing out that the corporation has been able to buy new machines and equipment for moving and transporting containers and electric generators to Mukalla Port.
He added that the corporation has contributed in improving the port's activities, provided Mahra's Nashton Port with marine communications and imported two ground lifters to Socotra Port, pointing to Mukalla Port's need to new ground truck to meet the increasing activities of the port.
Al-Khanbashi praised the role of the corporation- despite current conditions- in providing food, oil and industrial shipments to nearby provinces.
He confirmed government's keenness in taking care of the corporation's ports, pointing to necessity of improving infrastructure of the ports for boosting their marine capacities.
