The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

UBDP vows to speed its interventions to counter coronavirus in Yemen

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najib al-Aweg discussed with the resident representative of the UNDP in Yemen Nahid Hussein the allotted support to help Yemen managing the subsequent impacts of coronavirus pandemic upon economy and community, particularly after the UNDP authorized by the UN Chief to lead the response and support in the area of economy and development.
Via a videoconference Dr. al-Aweg and Hussein discussed re-arrange former finances and benefit from the allocated support by the UNDP Central Office in Yemen to devote that to respond to the implications of coronavirus pandemic by equipping health and quarantine centers.
They also agreed on accelerating the UNDP's intervention to support domestic market by assisting small and medium industries which specialized in manufacturing protection materials and medical requirements.
Action-plans to mobilize technical and financial support in cooperation with the other partners in development were discussed.
