ADEN - SABA
The leadership of the Parliament announced opposition to the declaration of the South Transitional Council (STC) issued yesterday, describing it as announcement of renouncing of Riyadh Agreement, undermining Saudi Arabia's and international community's efforts to re-establish security and peace in Yemen.
In a statement the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) learned the Parliament Leadership stated that any steps inconsistent with the outcomes of the National Dialogue, UNSCRs, the GCC's Initiative and Riyadh Agreement is considered to be objected.
" A declaration of any form of self-rule in the southern governorates or elsewhere is categorically rejected", the statement reads.
The Parliament leadership called on the President of the republic to take immediate and firm measures to stop such reckless actions that play into the hands of the Houthi rebel militia, encouraging it to turn down all peace initiatives.
The Parliament leadership called on the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to press for implementing Riyadh Agreement in order to save the Yemeni people the destructive consequences of the STC's irresponsible steps.
