The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Supreme National Emegency Committee on Coronavirus, Dr. Salem Al-Khanbashi, discussed with the Acting Head of the ICRC delegation to Yemen the ICRC's interventions in a number of different fields.
They discussed what the ICRC provides to the people affected by the armed conflict and medical assistance to Yemeni hospitals.
Al-Khanbashi appreciated the role played by the International Committee of the Red Cross by providing assistance to citizens affected by the war, especially in light of the ongoing military escalation of the Houthi militia and the reports on the first case of coronavirus infection confirmed in Yemen.
For his part, the ICRC official confirmed that the delegation will continue its interventions and coordinate efforts with the legitimate government to confront any outbreak of the virus.
