Head of Judiciary Council, Justice Minister receives UN delegation

The Head of the Supreme Judiciary Council Ali Salem along with Minister of Justice Ali al-Gharib met Thursday with the UNDP's delegation Headed by the Head of Good Governance and the Rule of Law Team Sorayo Bozkova.

The meeting discussed mechanisms of boosting cooperation and coordination between the two parties in supporting the judiciary authority and building capabilities of the cadre of judiciary and security, as well as rehabilitating buildings of the judiciary authority.

Salem provided a review to the UN delegation on ongoing work of the judiciary and security for realizing justice under very difficult and exceptional conditions over the war, pointing to killing of a number of the judiciary cadre in this war.

He confirmed that the judiciary council, the Supreme Court and the ministry of justice are worming as one team in their work for improving performance of the judiciary system.

For her part, the UN official conformed continuation of different support to the judiciary system in Yemen.
