Yemen demands friends to pile pressure on the militia to stop planting landmines

Yemen's delegation to the 23 Conference of the directors of demining programs and UN's technician experts in Geneva called on the international organizations and Yemen's friends to mount pressure upon Iran-allied Houthi militia to stop planting landmines and hand over landmines maps the militiamen laid down in different regions of the Republic of Yemen.

The Director of the National Demining Program Brigadier Ameen al-Aqaili warned of the disasterous consquencies of the large amount of landmines and explosive devices laid down by the Houthi rebels.

On the sideline of the Conference the Yemeni delegations held meetings with a number of the interested ogranizations including the Saudi Demining Program (MASAM and the UNDP.
