RIYADH-SABA
Yemen's Foreign Minister said the international community needs to send "a strong and clear warning" to Houthis for habitual abuses by which the radical militia aggregates the living conditions of the Yemeni people.

In a meeting with the US ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel here on Wednesday, Mohammed al-Hadhrami said the militia has been disrupting the work of humanitarian agencies in Yemen and hence, "undermining the international efforts to mitigate the humanitarian crisis the militia's coup (of September 2014) triggered."

He stressed "the imperative of sending a strong and clear warning by the international community to Houthis to stop them from persisting in these abuses that worsen the suffering of the people."

He cited the militia's denial of UN experts access to an oil tanker that has been stranded in the Yemeni waters for years without maintenance and has become like a time bomb that could leak at any moment and cause an environmental disaster of epic proportions."

The US ambassador emphasized the imperative of delivery of humanitarian aid to al beneficiaries, saying the US government appreciates the Yemeni government's facilitation of humanitarian aid work on its part.

He also appreciated the need of working on the tanker issue to avoid an oil spill and environmental disaster.
