Signing on Convention of Arab-African countries on the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden

The Arab-African countries overlooking the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden signed Monday on the Convention of the Council of Arab and African Countries on the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The countries include the Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti and Eretria.

The Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami along with Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti and Eretria signed the convention today, Monday, in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The foreign ministers of the seven countries held session with the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.

The session devoted to discuss a range of topics relating to joint cooperation between the countries overlooking the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Al-Hadrami stated that the Republic of Yemen is looking forward to active and effective cooperation and cooperation by the member states of the would-be council to help maintain the security and stability in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden and handling challenges relating to smuggling weapons and drugs.
