The Chairman and members of the National Commission to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations (NCIAHRV) discussed today in the interim capital of Aden with the Chairman and members of the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) in Yemen ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

PM: Govt determined to develop electricity sector

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik directed Ministry of Electricity and Energy to set forth on immediate measures to increase power-generate stations' capacities in the interim capital Aden and government-held governorates.

He said" Every necessary measure must be taken to reduce blackout hours and get ready to meet the increasing demand for power in the summer time".

He gave his directives during a meeting Monday in the interim capital Aden included Minister of Electricity Eng. Mohammed al-Anani and Director General of the General Corporation of Electricity Abdulqader BaSla'ah.

The session intended to discuss the action plans to increase the power-generate capacities and explore the practical measures can help developing the action of the Ministry of Electricity and the technical units tasked with monitoring the fuels used to operate the power generate stations.

The Prime Minister said that the government has been planning to increase the projects in electricity sector in the period ahead." The government has made developing electricity sector a top priority to get rid of recurrent power-cut", said Ma'een.
