The Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of the High Relief Committee (HRC)—Abduraqeeb Fatah met Thursday with the Chinese Ambassador to Yemen Kang Yong.
Fatah's conversations with Yong aimed to explore more Chinese humanitarian and developmental assistance. He submitted a bunch of proposals for sanitation projects need to be funded in the governorates off (Aden, Abyan, Taiz, Dale'a, Al-Baidha, Lahj, Hadramout and Marib).
For his part the Chinese Ambassador has affirmed his country's continuous support to the humanitarian efforts aiming to allay the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Yong also stated that his country is ready to support the projects submitted by the HRC, namely in the area of sanitation.
It is important to note that China has made substantial contribution to the humanitarian and relief efforts in our country. It has already provided nine shipments of food aid totaling 10200 tons and arrangements are underway now to deliver the tenth shipment includes 1000 tons.
