RIYADH - SABA
His Excellency President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received today the US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Hanzel.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues and developments on the Yemeni landscape.
Hadi said his government has been committed to peace as evident from the concessions offered in the talks with Houthi rebels aimed to hammer out a political settlement based on the Three Reference Points the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue and the UN Security Council resolutions, especially resolution 2216 (2015).
Hadi recalled a 2012 speech in which he warned "at an earlier time of the expansionist ambitions of Iran through its different stooges in Yemen and the region." He cited the present materialization of those concerns as Iran's threat to international shipping and safety in general is appearing clearer and growing bigger.
Hadi praised the support of the United States of America to Yemen in political, economic and security among other fields.
