Yemen has welcomed Thursday's call by Saudi Arabia to rebels to cede Aden which they had seized on August 11 back to the government.
Saudi Arabia called on the separatist rebels to "hand over military camps as well as government and civilian buildings" back to the internationally recognized government.
Yemen's government responded by "appreciating the Saudi rejection of the recent escalation in the south" and thanked the Kingdom's leaders, the King and the Crown Prince.
"The Republic of Yemen is grateful for the Saudi frank support to the government represented by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the Yemeni government."
The Saudi statement had called upon the Yemenis to unite efforts against terrorist religious organizations, the Houthis, al-Qaeda and ISIL.
