President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received Thursday US Assistance Secretary of State for the Near East David Shanker and discussed with him latest developments in Yemen.
President Hadiconfirmed cooperation between Yemen and the United States in field of fighting terrorism, Iranian interferences in the region, securing maritime navigation and ending Iran-backed Houthi coup in accordance with the three references: the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN resolutions led by Resolution 2216.
Pointing to his early warning against Iranian interferences in Yemen and the region and Iran's plans for destabilizing Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab straits, President Hadi praised positions of the United States in this field and for supporting Yemen's legality in different stages.
We will continue to be peace advocates and try all possible means for realizing it within our responsibilities on the bases of the national principles, presidential elections, and the three references.
For his part, the US official expressed his pleasure for meeting with president, confirming his country's support to Yemen and its unity and national principles, as well as support to President Hadi's efforts for facing terrorism and extremism and to the three references.
He also confirmed continuous cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries for realizing all joint aspirations.
