Leadership Council Avows To Take All Measures To Prevent Violations of Yemeni sovereignty

The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Dr. Mansour Bajjash and Japanese Chargé d'Affaires to Yemen have discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts of the Yemeni government towards reaching peace with the Houthi rebels.

Bajjash said the government would confront all the armed rebellions including that of the so-called Southern Transitional Council militia, while being committed to answer the Saudi call for participation in dialogue with the separatists.

Bajjash appreciated the Japanese government's non-voting on the UN Human Rights Council's decision to extend the mandate of the Group of Imminent Experts on Yemen. He also invited Japan to join with other countries in opposing the politicization of the Yemen human rights matter at the UN.
