The upper house of Yemen's bicameral parliament (Shura Council) condemned Thursday s airstrikes by the UAE against Yemen's army heading to the southern port city of Aden to retake it from separatists.
In a statement, the Council supported President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's "condemnation statement which held the UAE fully responsible for its blatant support to the Southern Transitional Council, a paramilitary militia."
The Council demanded Saudi Arabia the leader of the pro-government Arab Coalition to seriously stand by the side of the government and stop "the UAE's pointless vandalism; open support to rebel militias that threaten Yemen's social fabric."
The Council called on all Yemenis to rally together behind the government in the face of such serious circumstances.
