RIYADH-SABA
Yemen has renewed its demands for ending finances and military forms of support to paramilitary groups in the country, in reference to the Emirati support to separatist militiamen south of the country.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadhrami stated the demands as he met Sweden's Special Envoy for Yemen, Ambassador Peter Semneby, here today and briefed him on the violence roiling south Yemen as a result of the rebellion of the UAE backed Southern Transitional Council.
Al-Hadhrami warned that giving finance and military support to non-official military units fuels military escalations violates the purpose of the Arab Coalition campaign to counter the threat of Houthis and other terror groups.
