RIYADH-SABA
Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman has asserted his own country's support to the unity, stability and internationally recognized government of Yemen.
The Princes remarks come against the backdrop of the separatist Southern Transitional Council's takeover of state institutions in the temporary capital Aden on Saturday.
"What happened in Aden affords a window of opportunity those lying in wait to (harm) Yemen; the terrorist organizations and militias on top of which are the Houthis, al-Qaeda and Daesh," tweeted bin Salman, adding, "The Saudi support for the government, unity and stability of Yemen is unchangeable."
He noted that the international community too had reiterated their rejection of what happened in Yemen's temporary capital.
"The Kingdom won't accept the new strife which represents a declaration of war against the Yemeni people who have long suffered under this crisis."
