Signing Tripartite Agreement to Operate 70 Power Stations in Yemen with Saudi Support
A tripartite agreement was signed Wednesday between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the Yemeni Oil Company (PetroMasila), and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen to finance petroleum derivatives and supply more than 70 power generation stations across various governorates.

Yemen, ESCWA sign technical cooperation pact

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Najib al-Awj and the UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) RolaDashtisigned a technical cooperation pact here today.

Under the pact, the ESCWA will provide capacity building support and consultancy to the governmental institutions in accordance with their projects and available resources.

In the meeting, al-Awj gave the ESCWA official an account on the government's effort to normalize life and rebuild the state institutions in the regions liberated from the Houthi militants.

He said that his ministry is working to turn the relief aid interventions by international donors to developmental interventions as per especially designed strategies the government puts out of its sense of responsibility to make optimal use of the aid for the sake of the Yemeni people.
