His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) underlined the announcement of the establishment of the Multinational Naval Defense Alliance led by Saudi Arabia, describing this move as a strategic initiative and a very important step to boost collective security, protect international navigation and secure vital sea routes in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Vice President meets with US Ambassador to Yemen

Vice President (Lt Gen) Ali Mohesn Salah met Tuesday with US American Ambassador to our country Christopher Henzel.

The session aimed to discuss the developments about situations and under way effects to resume good offices to make peace in Yemen.

Aspects of Yemeni-American bilateral ties and military and security cooperation in fighting terrorism were also touched upon.

The Vice president reiterated Yemen's condmenation of threats and criminal act by Iran and its agent in Arabian Peninsula such like Houthis who target Saudi Arabia and its security.

He stated that the best way to counter Iran's spoiler role in Yemen is to reinstate the official government.

The Vice President stated that the government is very keen to make peace that is based on the three terms of reference.

For his part, theAmerican ambassador reiterated his country's support for the government and the efforts to make peace in Yemen.
