Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik has ordered the Industry Ministry to step up check and inspection campaigns on the prices of commodities in during Ramadan, a month when shopping peaks.
In a meeting with the management of the ministry and the Specifications and Quality Control Authority in Aden today, Abdulmalik stressed the need to expand the scruting campaigns to all districts of Aden and other liberated provinces.
He said that the government's successful measures to reverse the national currency's devaluation must translate into a parallel drop in the prices of imported goods including food items.
