Saudi project extracts more than 2000 Houthi-laid landmines in 4th week of April

RIYADH-SABA
The Saudi project "MASAM" extracted 2321 landmines from different parts of Yemen in the fourth of week of April. MASAM, part of a $40 million initiative by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), said in a statement it removed those landmines from schools, houses and private properties in several provinces of Yemen where they had been planted by the rebel militia that seized power military in 2014 and has since triggered a war.

MASAM said it has so far removed a total of 63,719 landmines of various kinds, sizes and disguised forms. Thousands of Yemenis a large number of them women and children have been killed or have sustained wounds and lost limbs as a result of such landmines.
