The Chargé d'Affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Turkey, Mehdi al-Addhami participated in an emergency meeting convened by the the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers to discuss the repercussions of last Friday's terrorist attack on mosques in New Zealand and fighting Islamophobia.
The meeting was chaired by Turkey and attended by the New Zealand Foreign Minister and a number of foreign ministers and other representatives of the OIC member states.
Addressing the meeting, Turkish President Recep Erdogan condemned the terrorist attack on the mosques and called on the international community to stand up against hatred and intolerance and take real measures to eliminate it and protect Muslim minorities in European countries.
