President al-Alim Calls for Wide-Ranging National Alignment to Restore State Institutions, Eliminate Coup

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces urged all Yemeni people to align themselves behind the State Proposal, support the Armed Forces in the security services in the ongoing battle to restore the State institutions and eliminate the coup. Yemen's Permanent Envoy to the United Nations (UN) Ambassador Abdullah Assa'di met on Thursday here with Regional Director of the UNICEF for Middle East and North Africa Geert Cappelaere.

Assa'di detailed Cappelaere on the difficult humanitarian situations the Yemeni peoples have been suffering as a result of the Houthi rebel militia's coup. He stated that the militia has continued to recruit children and send them to fight frontline battles.

For his part, Cappelaere the Yemeni government's cooperation with the UNICEF including signing action-plan and road map to eliminate the phenomenon of child recruitment in Houthi militia ranks.
