The Chargé d'Affaires of Yemen’s Permanent Delegation to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa discussed Monday with the Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council Ambassador Mohamadi Al-Ni ways to enhance joint cooperation between the delegation and the council, as well as mechanisms for developing joint Arab action in economic fields and making better use of available resources.

PM receives German Ambassador to Yemen

Prime Minister Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik received on Tuesday in Aden the German Ambassador to Yemen Karola Molar .

Discussions focused on the latest developments about the situations and topics relating the developments in Yemen.

The Prime Minister noted the government's efforts to manage financial challenges and renormalize administrative situations in the state's institutions. He cited several practical steps have already been taken to help improving the population's living conditions and bring permanent solutions to the national currency slide.

Dr Ma'een also touched upon government's action-plans aiming to improve monitoring apparatuses and mechanisms and secure effective collections of the state's revenues such as customs, taxes and facilitating the endorsement of letter of credits by the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) to ensure food and basic commodity supplies .

The Prime Minister stated that the government is working on achieving economic recovery, attract capitals and investments to temporary capital Aden and other government-held governorates. He noted that the government is committed to pay the government's employees and pensioners in the rebel militia controlled regions.

Dr Ma'een praised Saudi-led Coalition's efforts and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's oil grant that has proved very helpful for the government's efforts aiming to allay the peoples suffering.

The Prime Minister stated that there are underway efforts to reach political solution to the Yemeni crisis that should be based on the well known terms of reference including the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanisms, outcomes of National Dialogue and International Security Council resolutions, namely 2216.

The German diplomat reiterated her country's support for the legitimate government, Yemen's unity, security and stability. She stated that Germany will continue to support the government and efforts aiming to achieve sustainable peace in Yemen.
