Prime Minister MaeenAbdulmalikmet the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC's) Regional Director for Near and Middle East FabrizioCarboniand the new director of the ICRC's office in the temporary capital Aden, CarminAshtarita, here on Sunday.

They discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen and prospects for cooperation between the ICRC and the government in this regard.

The Prime Minister said the government fully supportsthe humanitarian and medical aid missions in Yemen, and that the government places special emphasis on the health issues and is thereforeseekingthe help of international organizations in this regard.

He appreciated the ICRC's efforts to arrange prisoner swap in the ongoing conflict in Yemen.

Carbonisaid the ICRC would expand its projects in a number of cities in the country.
