Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohammed Al-Maqadashi deeply appreciated great sacrifices made by the Sudanese army in Yemen where they are fighting heroically alongside their Yemeni comrades Iran-backed Houthi militia that seeks to advance the Iranian scheme aiming to destabilize the region's security, threatening international water passageways in the Red Sea.
Al-Maqdashi's statement came as he met in Cairo Wednesday with his Sudanese counterpart (Lt Gen) Awadh bin Aouf.
The Minister of Defense highly praised supportive stances of Sudan's leadership, government and peoples in supporting the legitimate government, actively contributing to the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's campaign and backing the Yemeni national military to push back the Houthi militia.
The Sudanese Defense Minister reiterated his country's principled position in supporting the legitimate government and Yemeni people at this critical stage.
(Lt Gen) Aouf stated that Sudan is continuing to back the Yemeni national military until Yemen is cleared of Iran-backed Houthi militia.
