Minister of Human Rights Dr Mohammed Asker met Wednesday in the temporary capital Aden with Special Envoy of the Swedish government's Special Envoy to Yemen Peter Semneby and the official in charge of Gulf in the Swedish Foreign Ministry Hans Grande Berg.
Asker's conversations with the Swedish delegation focused on aspects of common interest in human rights.
Discussions also touched upon challenges facing Human Rights Ministry and explored Swedish assistance in the capacity building of the Ministry and National Committee tasked with Investigation into human rights violations.
The Minister deeply appreciated substantial contribution made by the Kingdom of Sweden to support humanitarian efforts in Yemen.
He also stated that legitimate government led by President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi has been seeking for sustainable peace based on fairness and justice that can bring the victims fair compensation.
The Swedish envoy stated that Sweden may provide technical and logistic assistance to contribute to the Ministry capacity building and coordinate communication with the interested European parties.
