Yemen's cabinet discusses state budget, economic revival

The Council of Ministers held on Monday a meeting for discussing security and military situations, measures associated with preparing the state public budget and economic revival and rising the price of Yemeni Rial against foreign currencies.

Presided over by Prime Minister Ma'eenAbdulmalik, the council approved a number of decisions regarding economic recovery for improving living conditions of the people.

The ministers approved formation of the Supreme Committee for the State Budget and of the Technical Committee. The supreme committee is entrusted with making the framework of the state budget for 2019 in accordance with available indicators and resources.

The cabinet approved also a decision on boosting process of collecting custom revenues and taxes from imported oil derivatives, the decision confirmed collecting taxes from oil derivatives from Mareb Refineries and taxes on all imports entering the country from its different outlets by 10 percent.

The Council of Ministers stopped all job appointments out of the approved framework and out of the state budget and authorized the ministry of foreign affairs to provide a prospect for returning to appointment measures in accordance to the diplomatic law.

Earlier, the council discussed a report a report handed over Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior Ahmad al-Maisary on security situations in Aden and other liberated provinces, as well as efforts of the Arab Coalition for unifying security apparatus.

For his part, the Vice Chief of Military Staff General Saleh al-Zandani presented a report on the military situations and victories accomplished by heroes of the national army in different warfronts against Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The cabinet agreed on a note presented by Minister of Youth and Sports on including a budget for sport teams and the ministers approved YR 500 million annually to be included in sport ministry's budget.

The council also approved the Government and UN Technical Joint Committee for Eradicating Child Soldier Phenomenon and resuming the partnership plan between the Ministry of Human Rights, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNICEF.

The Council of Ministers approved a note presented by Minister of Information on establishing the State TV's premises in Aden.
