We're following Laban storm, precautions taken for emergencies, says minister

Ministry of Fishery has confirmed it has been constantly following the developments of Laban tropical storm which is reported have been approaching to the coasts of eastern provinces and Archipelagos of Socotra.

Operations room established in the Ministry and Fishery associations in the provinces of Hudramout, Al-Maharah and Socotra Archipelagos.

Minister of Fishery Fahd Kafine told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) contacts made with local authorities and coast guards in the concerned provinces to coordinate and rush to evacuate peoples in the vulnerable areas once the storm hits.

The storm is likely to reach shores of Al-Maharah and Hudramout provinces early morning on October 14 if it keeps on currently speed average.
