HAVANA-SABA

Yemen's Ambassador to Cuba Mohammad Nasher discussed on Friday with Director General for Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodolfo Reyes cooperation relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Nasher reviewed latest political and military developments in Yemen and efforts of the government for realizing peace via positive reaction with UN initiatives, the recent one was that called by the UN envoy to be held in Geneva and Iran-backed Houthi militia rejected attendance despite former commitments and confirmation on attending the consultations.

He pointed out that the rejection of Houthi militia of attending the consultations proves their rejection of peace efforts exerted by the UN via its envoy to Yemen.

He referred to falsifications and claims included in the report issued by the UN Human Rights Council on Yemen as they are based on false information away of neutrality, professionalism and credibility which contradict UN Resolutions on Yemen.

The report neglected humanitarian crimes committed by Houthi militia since the beginning of the coup against the legality and firing ballistic rockets on the Kingdom and threatening the International Navigation and laying mines in waterways.

For his part, the Cuban official expressed deep-rooted historical ties between the two friendly countries and support of his country to legal government aiming at ending the coup and restoring the state.

He praised the situation of Arab Coalition for supporting the constitutional legality under the leadership of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
