Journalists educated on reporting social violence in Aden

Several journalists have been educated on ways of reporting social violence including gender-based violence, in a training course organized by the Yemeni Women's Union in partnership with the Social and Economic and Media Studies Center (SEMC) for three days.

The course, which was attended by 30 journalists from various media outlets, was supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to provide media professionals with social and legal knowledge on how to highlight gender issues and how to prepare psychological and social information materials drawing on the knowledge about existing types of violence and their specific impacts on the community.

The head of SEMC Mustafa Nasr highlighted the importance of implementing the outcomes of the course in the day-to-day reporting profession by especially focusing on the violations and violence committed against women and children.
