Al-Maliki: Houthi militia poses threat to International trade in the Red Sea
[13/08/2018 08:48]

MARIB-SABA
Spokesperson of Saudi-led Arab Coalition Forces Colonel Turki Al-Maliki stated that the Coalition Forces last week took in coordination with partners all necessary measures to secure free movement of international trade and maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.

Speaking at press briefing held Monday in the city of Marib with presence of the Chief of Staff Maj. General Taher Al-Aqaili noted that Houthi putschist militia constitutes an existential threat to global trade by targeting commercial ships crossing over Bab Al-Mandeb Strait and sailing through the Red Sea.

Col. Al-Maliki explained that Joint Command of Arab Coalition Forces have been continuing in fighting the terrorist organizations in the Republic of Yemen in order to stop their atrocities against the Yemeni people and the menace they poses to regional security.

He pointed out that the Arab Coalition carried out several operations in Hudramout and recaptured Mukalla and handed it over to the legitimate Yemeni government.

Col. Al-Maliki stated that Houthi militia has continued to deliberately fire the ballistic missiles against the civilians in a violation to the Internal and Humanitarian Law. " 7 children were handed back to their families after being recruited by Iran-allied Houthi militia, to bring the number of recruited children who were handed back up to 86 until this day" said Al-Maliki.

"Total number of the ballistic missiles fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militia toward the Kingdom from the beginning of the war until August 13, 2018 reached 176, while projectiles amounted to 66349", Col. Al-Maliki said.
