ADEN-SABA
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor organized a workshop for formulating a national action plan for the protection of women in cooperation with the German Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.
In the workshop held in Aden on Monday, Social Affairs Minister Ebtihad al-Kamal stressed the importance of empowering women and girls to get them effectively involved in building a lasting peace and stability and contributing to the elimination of all forms of discrimination.
She pointed out to the importance of formulating a women protection plan in a participatory manner between the government institutions, civil society and women advocacy organizations.
She urged coordination of efforts to adopt the national plan, noting the emphasis of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, on women's participation in decision-making at all levels, and in the prevention of conflict and protection of women from violence.
