Yemen's Ambassador to Switzerland Dr. Ali Mohamed Mujawar met with Austria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger here on Friday.

They discussed enhancing cooperation between the Yemeni and Austrian missions to the UN office.

Mujawar gave Tichy-Fisslberger an account on the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the Houthi militia's war and diehard insurgency against the state and the legitimate government and their stubborn rejection and evasion of all peace initiatives proposed by the UN Secretary-General's successive envoys for Yemen.

The Austrian ambassador expressed her understanding of the difficult situation in Yemen and readiness to provide assistance to the mission of Yemen in Geneva during her country's presidency of the European Union Group.
