Signing Tripartite Agreement to Operate 70 Power Stations in Yemen with Saudi Support
A tripartite agreement was signed Wednesday between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the Yemeni Oil Company (PetroMasila), and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen to finance petroleum derivatives and supply more than 70 power generation stations across various governorates.

Yemeni, Chinese FMs discuss possibility of signing MOU

Yemen's Foreign Minister KhaledAlyemany and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed today the possibility of signing a bilateral memorandum of understanding on cooperation as part of the the Belt and Road Initiative.

Alyemany pointed that Yemen was among the first countries to positively react to this initiative. He said that Yemen's geographical position and natural ports will be a significant boost to this international initiative.

He cited the Chinese steadfast support to the Yemeni government and to political settlement under the umbrella of the United Nations and based on the agreed upon references. He said that any deal outside the UN-approved references will not bring a permanent peace.

The Chinese official welcomed the idea of a bilater MOU and affirmed the Chinese government's support for peace in Yemen based on the UN resolutions so as to conserve Yemen's unity.

He also expressed concern at the deterioration of humanitarian situation in Yemen saying China would continue to provide aid to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.
