Legitimate government has welcomed underway efforts aiming to find out a solution to the crisis the country has been experiencing since Houthi militia carried out its coup against the legitimate government, a solution that should be based on the three well-known terms of reference that are internationally recognized: outcomes of National Dialogue, GCC's Initiative, its operational plan and UNSCRs, specifically 2216.

In a statement the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received the government has made clear that Houthi putschist militia's intransigence and its passive response to the international peace efforts will have dangerous repercussions politically and humanitarianly. Therefore, the government is determined to retake Hodeida and all Yemeni regions that are still under militia control.

The statement reads:" The Yemeni legitimate government is following mediation efforts led by the UN's envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith and it does welcome these good offices aiming to reach settlement to the crisis the country has been going through since Houthi putschist militia carried out its coup against the legitimate government, provided that a solution should be based the GCC's brokered-deal, its executive mechanism, National Dialogue's outcomes and International Security Council's resolutions in relevant, mainly 2216".

The statement went on " As government is closely watching the UN envoy's visit to Sana'a and his mediation aimed to persuade Houthi militia of peacefully withdrawal from Hodeida city and seaport, it[government] calls on the Houthi putschist militia to constructively response to these good offices, immediately pull out from Hodeida seaport and province, hand back medium and heavy weapons, missiles and land-mines and marine-mines maps".

The government decried the militia's practices against Hodeida and the coastal provinces' population. The statement reads" These illegal and atrocities include planting land-mines in the streets, government's facilities and residential quarters, and prevent residents to leave the areas nearby combat operations in order to use them as human shields".
