Assa'di participates in inaugurating Technology Bank for the least developed countries, meets with several officials

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr Mohammed Assa'di participated in the inauguration United Nations Technology Bank for the least developed countries in the Turkish city of Gebze. UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, Turkish Minister of Science, Technology and Industry and Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Marianne Hagen, representatives of the donor countries and member-states of the bank were in attendance.

Dr Assa'adi gave a word on behalf of the member states in which he explained that the bank is established to contribute toward capacity-building in the least develop countries in the domains of technology and innovations and it is going to play key role in promoting economic growth and sustainable development.

On the side lines of the inauguration function, Assa'adi met separately with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed. His conversations with Amina focused on cooperation between Yemen and the UN to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He also met with the Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Marianne Hagen. Aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.
